The National Network of Abortion Funds connects nearly 100 grassroots organizations. In 2023, member funds served over 150,000 callers. Demand has only grown since. Sixteen states use their own Medicaid dollars to cover most medically necessary abortions. Several states have passed shield laws protecting patients and providers from prosecution by ban states.

The gap between who needs care and who can access it grows wider every month. Funds in the Southeast and Texas face the highest per-patient costs because patients must travel the farthest.
